Sustainability Challenge
What is the Sustainability Challenge?
For the first time the NGU launches a Sustainability Challenge in English.
All NGU students are invited to participate in this open innovatin process, with 4 categories:
Challenge 1: Design of an interactive sustainable development platform for international students
Challenge 2: Bachelor or Master theses in English addressing at least three sustainable development goals
Challenge 3: Tips for a more sustainable university
Challenge 4: The best 2-minute video of the concepts submitted in Challenge 1-3
Each price is valued at 500 Euro.
Closing date for all applications is May 28, 2018.
Only apllications in English will be accepted!

How does it work?
For all 4 challenges students of the NGU are asked to submit application documents with the following content:
1. Abstract (1-2 A4 pages, Arial 11PT)

Download: Template for Challenge 2 (Master or Bachelor theses)
2. For challenge (2) Master or Bachelor thesis:
- You must include one additional page in your abstract, in which you elaborate to which Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) your thesis contributes. You must address at least 3 SDGs!
- You need to submit an electronic version (pdf document) of your thesis.
- You also need to submit a notification about your final grade of the thesis.
3. 2-minute video
The video is voluntarily, this video will be part of Challenge 4: The best video.
How is the challenge financed?
The Sustainability Challenge is funded within the project "DigiSDG - Digital Platform for Student Research and Activities towards the Sustainable Development Goals".
This project is financed by
- the Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and Energy Sector Baden-Württemberg,
- the Ministry for Sciences, Research and Arts Baden-Württemberg,
- the State Ministry Baden-Württemberg,
- the Engagement Global gGmbH – Service for Development Initiatives.
