The NGU is committed to environmental awareness and sustainable development. Three students of the Bachelor program “Equine Management” were able to win 3.500 € as a partial sponsoring at the "campusWELTbewerb" from the “Forum for International Development and Planning” to procure an energy bicycle. The project was further financially supported by the Stadtwerke Nürtingen and the HfWU Hochschulbund.

The creative workplace "Watt a HUB" is an innovative single working space with a nice gimmick. To physically support the creativity and the ability to think, you can, if you like, cycle. So the mind gets fit through the physical activity. Power is generated by cycling and devices such as a smartphone can be charged via the USB port.

On the Watt a HUB, students can "experience" how much energy is needed for various everyday activities that have become self-evident. The idea of sustainability and the environment is aroused by the "experience" of one's own body. This is supposed to change people's minds, eventually leading to more sustainable behaviour.

The "Watt a Hub" will serve as an eye catcher at its everyday location in the foyer of the CI10 as well as in mobile applications at events and trade fairs. It combines fun with learning and can be flexibly staged.

Through its branding in the corporate design of the NGU, it can enhance every image stand of the NGU at various events. And through a table top it can transport profound information for reading while cycling.
