A quarter of a century of MBA International Management - this was duly celebrated at Nürtingen-Geislingen University at the end of June. Participants from North and South America, Asia, Africa, Europe and even Australia underlined this: The MBA has long since become a global network.
Prof. Dr. Erskin Blunck, program director of the MBA, opened the celebrations with an impressive review of the program's beginnings. In his speech, he emphasized how the course has developed over the last 25 years from a regional idea to an international success story - with alumni who are now working in responsible roles around the world: “The MBA International Management is the ideal platform for a successful career in globally active companies at home and abroad.”
The story of the “Life Changing Experience”, which many students associate with the MBA program in Nürtingen, was particularly impressive - be it through professional reorientation, personal development or the founding of their own company.
In a moving keynote, Stella Smiljkovic (COO and co-founder of Feedbacktime) and Mujib Bazhwal (founder and CEO of Zukunft Gründen Venture Studio) encouraged the audience to reflect on their role in shaping a desirable future. Both speakers exemplify the potential of the program: from large companies to innovative start-up ideas with a social impact.
Alumni from the last 15 years, who had traveled from countries such as Nigeria, India, Colombia, Hong Kong and Turkey, showed what these ideas look like in practice. In a panel discussion, they reported on their own personal development - and repeatedly emphasized the special atmosphere within the degree program. Jyothi L. from India summed it up aptly: “I came for the German beer - and stayed for the people.” The fact that interpersonal relationships and cultural exchange are just as important in MBA International Management as the academic teaching was impressively demonstrated at the panel discussion.
The summer party afterwards offered the opportunity to exchange, network and celebrate. Guests, students, alumni and lecturers ended the evening in a relaxed atmosphere with pizza and live music followed by a DJ.
We would like to thank everyone who celebrated 25 years of MBA International Management with us!
