The beginning and development
Founded in the early 1990s as a degree course in International Cooperative Studies, it was soon transformed into a postgraduate course for engineers. Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Werner Gräbener and with the support of the DAAD, the course developed rapidly. In 1999/2000 it was converted into the MBA International Management and the curriculum was further developed.
International orientation and successes
A special highlight was the 10th anniversary, which was celebrated with a keynote speech by Dr. Menno Harms, the former head of HP in Germany. In the following years, the DAAD funding was successfully reapplied for and the program strengthened its international orientation. A highlight was the International Alumni Conference 2016 with over 100 participants from all over the world.
Current developments and future prospects
Following the end of DAAD funding, the MBA was switched entirely to English, which led to a significant increase in applications. To ensure the quality and seriousness of the applications, A1 German language skills were introduced as an additional requirement.
The MBA International Management has received support from local companies in the region for many years and graduates work in local as well as international companies and organizations.
The program has a successful history and looks forward to a promising future. The close cooperation with the business world and the international orientation of the program offer students excellent career opportunities.
We already look forward to celebrating the 25th anniversary of the MBA International Management with our students and alumni at the end of June!
