Leading up to the conference, we visited our two Swedish partner universities
in Malmö and Karlskrona. These campus visits provided valuable insights into
the activities at the two universities and offered us the opportunity to
discuss current issues relating to our student exchange and to enhance and
develop our collaboration.
Together with a substantial number of universities from the southwest of
Germany, we were represented at “The Länd” booth, the official booth for the
federal state of Baden-Württemberg. Our team consisted of three International
Office staff who actively promoted our university in an international context.
The days in Gothenburg consisted of a dense schedule of meetings,
appointments, and events. The personal exchange with representatives from over
40 partner universities worldwide was particularly enriching. These encounters
provided opportunities to deepen existing cooperations, initiate new projects,
and develop ideas for the future.
In addition, we took part in various expert lectures, workshops, and
networking formats that offered exciting impulses and insights into current
developments and trends in the field of internationalization.
Our participation in the EAIE 2025 was a great success for our team – with
many new ideas, enhanced partnerships, new contacts, tangible outcomes, and a
strong sense of community at the "The Länd" booth.

Tandem Program: Language Learning and Intercultural Exchange!
The tandem program offers a great opportunity to practice German. During a Tandem Partner Meet-Up event each semester you'll be paired with a German student interested in learning your language. Together, you can choose how to structure your sessions—whether studying with books, chatting in a café, or engaging in leisure activities like watching movies or exploring each other's countries. If you're unable to find a partner for language exchange, or if you're solely interested in teaching without learning German, the international office will assist in finding a suitable match. The program welcomes participants of all ages and backgrounds, providing a chance to connect with diverse individuals and learn about local culture. To join, complete the registration form and send it to andrea.heissler@hfwu.de. Remember to indicate your language skills and any specific requests you may have.
