Changes to the Corona Regulation - Implementation at NGU

Implementation „Siebte Verordnung der Landesregierung zur Änderung der Corona-Verordnung“ at NGU.

On Thursday, the Chancellor and the Prime Ministers of the federal states agreed on further easing of the corona restrictions. Yesterday evening, the „Siebte Verordnung der Landesregierung zur Änderung der Corona-Verordnung“ was published for the State of Baden-Württemberg. We would like to take this opportunity to inform you about the plans at our university.

In connection with the decision of the state government on the slow withdrawal of the initial restrictions, we are also planning a gradual opening of our university.

Our main focus at the moment is to create the organisational and logistical conditions for relaxation. This concerns the installation of information signs, the attachment of Plexiglas panels, the establishment of a booking system and the procurement of disinfectants. This preparatory work will probably be completed by 11 May. A gradual opening of the university can therefore take place from this date at the earliest. Until further notice, all measures taken remain valid, i.e. in particular that students may only enter the university if they have made an appointment with their contact person by telephone or e-mail.

We would like to inform you about our plans for relaxation in advance.

PC Pools

We are planning to open one PC pool at each of the two locations on May 11. These are to be opened for students who do not have the necessary technical equipment to participate in the online lectures from home. For this purpose we will install a booking system. We will inform you about the further procedure as soon as possible.

Libraries

The previous system has proven itself, but there are isolated requests for access to the libraries. We are currently discussing how a gradual further opening of the libraries in CI7 and Geislingen is possible.

Mensa

The cafeterias in Nürtingen (CI1 and Johannes-Wagner-Schule) will remain closed for us in May. A reopening this semester will depend on our needs, among other things.

LVB / LVG

For absolutely necessary courses in the gardens, access to the teaching and experimental gardens can be granted under observance of the safety distance, when wearing mouth and nose protectors and under the supervision of the lecturer. The teaching and experimental gardens can be entered in groups of 2 in accordance with the Corona Regulation (Corona-Verordnung des Landes).

Studios, chemical laboratory

A gradual opening for emergencies and necessary attendance events is being coordinated. However, such an opening requires appropriate infection prevention measures, which is why this will be possible from May 11 at the earliest.

Teaching

Teaching continues to take place online. Classroom teaching will be the exception this semester. Courses that can only take place in attendance and have a maximum of 20 participants per course can be held in appropriately large rooms from May 11 at the earliest, provided that the Corona Regulations permit this. Your lecturers will inform you as soon as possible when a classroom event starts. The hygiene, access and security concept is currently being developed.

Courses outside the university

The current Corona Regulation applies here. According to the regulation this is not possible until May 10.

Exams, changes of the examination performance

In accordance with the above-mentioned Corona Regulation, the universities shall ensure, as far as legally and factually possible, that students are able to complete all study courses scheduled for the 2020 summer semester, if necessary in a modified form, while at the same time ensuring that they can study. We will introduce any changes necessary for this purpose at the committee meetings in May and inform you of any changes in a timely manner.

Since many of the restrictions in the above-mentioned regulation are initially limited until May 10, we expect a further amendment to the currently valid Corona regulation by this date. However, as the course of the pandemic cannot be predicted, we will still have to make short-term decisions. We ask for your understanding for this. We will inform you of these decisions as soon as possible.

For students who are in a financial emergency due to the Corona pandemic, there are various support offers. Please refer to the information on the website of our university.
