Theresia Bauer, Minister of Sciene of Baden-Württemberg, has now fixed the beginning of the semester as April 20. Due to the current restrictions in public life, teaching will, until further notice, only take place in the form of distance learning.
What the corona epidemic and its consequences will mean for examinations and the examination period is currently still open. As we can initially only start via distance learning, we assume that the examination period will extend beyond 1.8.2020. We hope and endeavour to be able to conduct the examinations in the form provided for in the examination regulations, but must remain flexible in this respect as well. We will provide information on the exact dates and forms of examinations as early as possible.
Due to the postponement of the Abitur examinations, the application phase for the next winter semester will also be postponed. This measure could lead to the fact that the winter semester 2020/2021 will still have to share the consequences of the corona crisis and may not start until November 1, as announced by the KMK in a press release. Whether the KMK will actually decide on this, whether it will apply to the first semester only or to all semesters and whether this decision will only apply to lectures, is still being discussed and decided at a higher level. As soon as we have further information on this, we will send you information so that you can plan accordingly.
