Implementation Corona Regulation (May 9) at NGU.

On May 9 the state government published a new Corona Regulation, which comes into force on May 11.

In accordance with the above-mentioned regulation, studies will continue in digital formats. The operation of studies in the rooms and on the grounds of the universities will now be suspended until May 24. The regulations and measures taken so far will therefore now apply until May24, 2020, which means in particular that meetings and other gatherings of more than five people in the buildings and on the premises of the university will continue to be prohibited. Practical events with special laboratory requirements, which are absolutely necessary, and meetings for conducting examinations, as well as research and teaching, which are exceptionally approved by the Rectorate and cannot be replaced electronically, may take place. You have already been informed about our plans for this.

The following changes have occurred since the last notification:

Cafeteria

The cafeterias can resume operations from May 18 in accordance with the above-mentioned regulation. However, our cafeterias (CI1 and Braike) will most likely remain closed for us. As soon as there is a change here, we will inform you.

PC Pools

As soon as disinfectants are available, we will open a PC pool at both locations. These will be available for students who do not have the necessary equipment at home to follow the online lectures. The booking system for this has been implemented.

Libraries

An opening of the libraries in CI7 and Geislingen for exceptional cases is to take place from May 18 (new: May 25) onwards. A booking system will also be used here. An information mail about the exact process will follow.

LVB / LVG

The teaching and experimental gardens will open to the public in the next few days. The Corona Regulation for public spaces applies here. Signs will be put up.

Teaching

We are currently checking what capacities our lecture rooms have in compliance with the minimum distance. As soon as the organisational prerequisites are in place, we will gradually start with courses that can only be held in attendance and have a maximum of 20 participants. We are in close contact with the faculties.

Furthermore, we would like to inform you that the regulations for the care of children under the age of 12 will apply until May 29, 2020. Please contact the Human Resources Department for further information and in case of need.
