Every semester all Bachelor's and Master's students have to pay the semester contribution of currently € 188.10. This amount consists of the administration fee, the Studierendenwerk fees and the student body fees.

Part-time Degree Programs charge a special tuition fee. Separate regulations apply here.

Tuition fees for international students (€ 1,500.00 per semester)
Persons who are citizens of a country outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) and want to study in Baden-Württemberg must pay € 1,500.00 (plus semester contribution) each semester. The exceptions are listed in the following Application for Exemption of the tuition fees. If one of them applies to you, please submit the signed application with the original signature.
Second Degree Study (€ 650.00 per semester)
Persons want to take up a second course of study in Baden-Württemberg must pay € 650.00 (plus semester contribution) each semester.
When is a second degree available?
A second or further Bachelor's or Master's Degree Program is subject to the tuition fees. The first degree, including the Master's Degree and a doctorate, remains tuition-free!
Only after completion of a University course of study acquired in Germany will the second or further Bachelor's or Master's course be subject to tuition fees for the entire duration of the course.
The exceptions are listed in the following Application for Exemption of tuition fees. If one of them applies to you, please submit the signed application with the original signature.
Students enrolled in the summer semester 2017 or before are excluded from this regulation. However, tuition fees apply to students who were enrolled at a University before the 2017/18 winter semester and then change the Degree Program or University
In case of exmatriculation before the start of the semester...
... you will receive a reimbursement of the semester contribution (and tuition fees, if applicable). Please submit the following Application for Reimbursement with an original signature.
In case of exmatriculation within one month of start of the lectures...
- the reimbursement of administrative costs of € 70.00 is possible. The same rule is for people who have to pay tuition fees. Please submit the following Application for Reimbursement with an original signature. Please note that the exmatriculation date is decisive (cut-off period!).
- In order to receive a refund of the Studierendenwerk fees, you must submit an application to the Studierendenwerk Tübingen-Hohenheim. Other deadlines apply here, which you can find on their website. A copy of the notice of exmatriculation must be submitted with the application. We are not responsible for the refund and cannot influence it.
- Information on the reimbursement of the student body contribution can be found in the Organisationssatzung of the Student Body (Verfasste Studierendenschaft).
