Tuition and Fees

Tuition and Travel arrangement fees for NGU students

NGU students will pay €900 (€1,230 without a scholarship for early bird registration) plus €750 for the weekend trips. The weekend trips were made optional for NGU students since many German students know the places already.

These amounts include tuition fees for all BEST lectures, accommodation, the flight to and from Marseille, visits, all program related sightseeing events, and some sponsored meals. Not included in the above costs are all individual breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Additional cost of living for the tour in Europe is, for a typical student, about €1,000 but will vary depending on the individual student’s priorities given to eating out in restaurants (versus home-made meals), visiting pubs and bars or souvenir shopping.

NGU students will make all payments in Euro.

Tuition and Travel arrangement fees for CSUF and other students

The fees for US students amount to $2,200 ($2,700 without a CSUF/CBE scholarship for early bird registration) for the three-week program.

These fees include tuition fees for all BEST lectures, inner-European-travel, accommodation, visits, all program related sightseeing events, and some sponsored meals. Not included in the above costs are the travel arrangements concerning outbound and return flight to Europe and the US, as well as all individual breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Additional cost of living for the tour in Europe is, for a typical student, about €1,000 but will vary depending on the individual student’s priorities given to eating out in restaurants (versus home-made meals), visiting pubs and bars or souvenir shopping.

The BEST fees exclude any (tuition) fees, e.g. for the courses to be accredited/validated, at one’s home university.

US students will make all payments in US$.

Further information

Scholarships

Students should check whether their university, school or college grants a BEST Scholarship. For example, at CSUF the Mihaylo CBE offers its students a $500 scholarship for participating in the BEST tour (early bird scholarship). BEST scholarships might also be granted at NMMU and Ole Miss. Early bird NGU students get a scholarship of the university in the amount of €330.

Refund Policy

A registered student who is unable to attend must withdraw in writing. Prior to a deadline, payments are refundable, excluding a fee for administration charges. No refund will be made in the case of a student canceling the study trip after the given deadline or failing to attend lectures or other events included in the program during the tour.

Travel arrangements

All travel arrangements are organized by a German and French travel agency.

Language, Support and Supervision

All lectures, company visits and sightseeing tours are in English. English-speaking, European tour guides are available during the whole tour. The Tour Executive Project Manager and a CSUF professor will accompany the tour the whole time. The French language course for beginners and intermediates will provide you with survival skills in the French language.

Insurance

The students must provide for their own international insurance plan and are personally responsible for all international insurance policies and claims. Full travel insurance coverage for travel arrangements and medical protection, including cancellation costs in the event of illness, is strongly recommended. For further information contact your local travel agent. You might also like to inquire about international travel insurance at your home university campus.

Liability

NGU organizes BEST and does not act as a travel agency. The liability for all aspects of the travel agreements (e.g. inner-European travel, accommodation, sightseeing and other leisure programs) lies within the responsibility and stated liability conditions of the German and French travel agency
