Nürtingen-Geislingern University offers the four-semester postgraduate study programme "Environmental Protection" leading to the degree of Master of Engineering (M. Eng.) in Environmental Protection. 

Under the administration of Nürtingen-Geislingen University, the Universities of Applied Sciences in Esslingen and Reutlingen and the Hochschule für Technik (HfT)  Stuttgart mutually offer this course as a joint-degree program. Lectures take place on a daily rotating basis at the 4 campuses of the participating schools. The program Environmental Studies is an outstanding and singular example for university cooperation in Germany.

Municipal corporations, county administrations, regional authorities, state and federal environmental agencies, nature conservation and environmental surveillance authorities, research establishments and trade supervisory offices. 

Utilities and industry
Undertakings and associations in the fields of power supply, water catchment, treatment and supply, waste disposal and utilisation and pollution control as well as in general environmental protection departments at large enterprises.

Private sector
Planning offices, consulting engineer firms and providers of environmental protection services.

Free-lance
Work as an environmental consultant, independent expert or provider of environmental protection services

Curriculum

Admission Requirements

 In addition to the specific admission requirements for this degree programm (link on the right)

• Proof of completion of a course of studies at a German university or a comparable establishment of higher education abroad          
• Further criteria: A degree in a scientific, engineering or economics subject completed with an average grade in the final examinations and a thesis on a subject of environmental relevance, plus proof of occupation or employment in work of environmental relevance
