Nürtingen-Geislingen University offers at its campus in Nürtingen the profound and practice-oriented bachelor degree program Agriculture. It leads to the degree Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.).

The School of Agriculture gives the students ideal conditions for an applied market-oriented education. The university-owned research farm comprising 120 hectares not only produces but also markets agricultural products in a real-market scenario. The students are integrated into the whole production process from sowing to harvesting to marketing their produce. The farm is divided in two different branches and offers facilities for applied research projects and demonstration plots. The scientific work covers projects in agricultural technology and a broad variety of plant production: from organic agriculture to gentech experiments. The researchers at the School of Agriculture also do research in animal husbandry. The animal-welfare housing systems developed at NGU are highly documented and renowned.

This versatile foundation of knowledge and first-hand experience gives our graduates promising job-perspectives.

More and more, Agribusiness has to face today´s challenges. This applies to the traditional areas of Agribusiness as well as new and future-oriented tasks, for example:

• technology in plant production and animal cultivation
• agricultural marketing and agricultural economics
• organic farming
• how agribusiness can help to solve energy and environmental problems
• demand for animal-appropriate husbandry
• chances and limits of new technologies
