Accomodation Geislingen Campus
Once you have been admitted to Nürtingen-Geislingen University you will receive a welcome letter together with the application form for accommodation in the halls of residence. If you hand in your application in time, it won't be a problem to allocate you a room in the halls of residence.
In Geislingen there are 6 student residences. The 4 buildings in Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße are very close to the University. Exchange students normally live there. The 2 other buildings are down-town Geislingen but still within walking distance.
There is access to cable TV and telephone in every room. The Studentenwerk has also provided each room with free internet access.
Please note that you cannot move into the residence hall at weekends and on public holidays.
Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße 8 - 12

The 3 newly renovated buildings are next to the University and offer 90 rooms as shared apartments:
10 apartments for 3 students each
8 apartments for 4 students each and
28 single apartments
Each shared apartment has got a kitchen and shower/WC, the single apartments have got a kitchenette and shower/WC.
All rooms are equipped with
- bed with mattress
- pillow and blanket
- wardrobe
- desk and chair
Rent of the rooms is between € 195 and € 255 depending on the size of the room.
Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße 4 + 6
The new building is next to the University and offers 83 rooms which are either single room apartments or integral part of 4 room units. The single room apartments are unfurnished (besides a wardrobe). The shared apartments have got a kitchen, a bathroo and basic furniture.
Rent of the apartments is between € 237 and € 330 depending on the size.
City-House Kantstraße 2 / Eybacher Straße 52

Down-town Geislingen is this "cityhouse" which was fully renovated in 2004. It has got 30 shared apartments with kitchen and bathroom. The size of the apartments is 36 m² to 63 m² and is equipped with:
- bed with mattress
- pillow and blanket
- wardrobe
- desk and chair
Rent of the apartments is between € 203 and € 256 depending on the size.
Kantstraße 3
- Student Hostel: Kantstraße
The building is close to the cityhouse and was fully renovated in 2005. It has got 20 shared apartments with kitchen and bathroom. The size of the apartments is 39 m² to 52 m² and is equipped with:
- bed with mattress
- pillow and blanket
- wardrobe
- desk and chair
Rent of the apartments is between € 213 and € 253 depending on the size.
Flyer Student Residences Geislingen Campus
General Information
Rooms in the students’ residence hall are only rented out for the whole semester, i.e. you have to pay the rent for 6 months even if you do not live there for the whole period. The lease contract runs from September 1 to February 28/29 for the winter semester and from March 1 to August 31 for the summer semester. You can move into the room from the beginning of this period if it is not a week-end/public holiday.
For exchange students only: Please note that payment can only be made after your arrival in Nuertingen/Geislingen. Do not make any payments from abroad. For the payment of the rent students have to sign a document (Einzugsermaechtigung) which authorizes the Studentenwerk - the organisation responsible for the management of the residence halls and student restaurants et. al. - to withdraw the money for the rent from your bank account. This payment is due during the first week of every month. The deposit has to be paid after you have moved into your room and it will be refunded if you leave the room in good condition. This process can take 4 to 6 weeks after the end of the lease.
