Don't forget to bring ...
Identification:
- passport (with or without the entry visa)
- your identity card for EU citizens valid for the entire period of your stay in Germany
- at least 2 passport photos
- if necessary, international driving licence or a German translation of your driving licence
Documents:
- proof of financial resources which have to be confirmed by the local authorities in your home country
- notification of admission (Zulassungsbescheid)
- certificate of health insurance (EU citizens only need to bring along the EHIC card or E128 /E111 form)
- birth certificate
- vaccination card
- for non-EU students who have entered without a visa and who have no scholarship certificate: ‘Verpflichtungserklärung’ which must be signed by your parents
Money:
- certificate of scholarship if you receive a scholarship from your university
- statement of income and assets from your parents
- credit card, traveller's cheques
- enough cash - especially in the first few days and weeks you'll have numerous expenses
If you have been awarded a scholarship exceeding 600 € per month you will need no extra proof of financial resources. In this case bring the original certificate with you.
