Exams and Grades
It could be surprising to you that in most subjects there is a written exam at the end of the semester. There are no oral marks or marks for assignments. Only in some subjects you have to do a presentation or assignment.
Have a look at the study and examination regulation and you will see the kind of examination.
The grading system at Nürtingen-Geislingen University is as follows:

57 - 62 3,0
50 - 56 3,3
43 - 49 3,7
40 - 42 4,0
less than 40 fail
Scale of marks
1,0 – 1,5 very good
1,6 – 2,5 good
2,6 – 3,5 satisfactory
3,6 – 4,0 marginal pass
After the end of the lecture period there is a 3-week examination period. The international office will register exchange students for the examinations for those courses you have mentioned in your final learning agreement. The date of the examinations will be shown in the internet on the webbrett of your study program or the FlexNow server. On the latter you can find your personal exam dates and – later on - your exam results: https://flexnow.hfwu.de/. For using the FlexNow server exchange students will have to get a special password from the International Office.
On the day of the exam students do not sit next to each other and they are not allowed to have their bags or their jackets at their place. Their mobile phones have to be switched off and be brought to the front desk upon request. You will need your student ID card, a pen (not a pencil!), (maybe) something to eat or drink, and the material your professor allows you to use. For some examinations you will be assigned a particular seat in the examination room.
Some time after the exam day you can check the Flexnow server for your grades.
