The Nürtingen-Geislingen University offers at its campus in Nürtingen the internationally recognized bachelor degree program Landscape Planning & Nature Protection. It leads to the degree Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) and is the only bachelor degree program of its kind in Germany.

The study program offers a balanced mix of theory and practice to qualify students for professional performance of all landscpae planning tasks including nature conservation work.

Involving a large proportion of projects and building up in modular fashion, the practice-oriented teaching units cover

• scientific and ecological
• legal and social
• methodological and tool based

aspects of modern and target-oriented planning work. In the project modules students produce at least one:

• landscape plan
• open space structure plan and environmental report
• impact mitigation planand mitigation bank
• environmental impact assessmant
• nature conservation and management plan
• landscape maintenance and development plan
• biotechnical application

The study program comprises 6 semesters plus one fully integrated internship. Many students spend their job-placement semester abroad to obtain international work experience and intercultural skills.

Qualified graduates can apply for one of our master degree programs Environmental Studies or International Master of  Landscape Architecture. The M.Eng. Landscape Architecture is taught in German and English and involves study at 2 higher education institutions.
